As a Minister of the Gospel, Reverend Cameron D. Hankins operates under a mandate from God to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His heartfelt desire is that God will get the glory out of his life.
Reverend Hankins is the son of Pamela Hankins Brown, a native of Bolivia, NC. He was reared in the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where he accepted the call of God and delivered his initial sermon on December 1, 2002. Later uniting with Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church, and ordained as an Elder by The Northeast Old Original Freewill Baptist Conference.
It is his belief that the call of God extends far beyond the pulpit; it is a call to civic involvement and public service. "When Christ is lifted, men and women are drawn to His word." His desire is for lives to be changed by the power of God's Word and for the people of God to become effective and empowered by being obedient to God's Word.
Reverend Hankins served as the Pastor of the Shoulders Branch Missionary Baptist Church, in Castle Hayne, NC, for seven years, leading parishioners into a deeper knowledge of who Jesus is through loving pastoral care, teaching, and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Fostering a unified and collective mission To Love, To Grow, and To Learn.
According to the Will of God, on October 11, 2013, Reverend Hankins was elected as the ninth Pastor of New Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
Reverend Hankins is happily married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Lady Tia Bell Hankins, they have been married for nine wonderful years. She is the daughter of Treadwell and Minister Edith Bell of Leland, NC. They are the proud parents of two wonderful sons, Jackson Cameron Hankins and Parker Deon Hankins. They strive to lead by example in their Christian walk, maturing in an intimate relationship with God, which is to live in harmony with what God requires, " ....do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with thy God. (Micah 6:8)
