Chapel's Ministries
Jesus Christ gave the Great Commission in Matthew 28: 19-20: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
ATHLETICS: Our church has two athletic teams, female softball and male baseball. The teams normally play against other church teams. Click here for the game schedule and photos.
BIBLE STUDY: In obedience to the Scriptures, Bible study is taught in two Wednesday sessions at 10:30 a.m. and at 7:00 p.m. CHOIRS: The most important role of the choir is to provide a spiritual setting for the worshippers. The music should always lift the hearts and minds of the people toward God. Our church has five choirs which are the Senior, Mass, Youth, Young Adult and Male Chorus. AUDIO/VIDEO MINISTRY: Audio and Video tapes of the 11 a.m. service are available. This ministry is geared toward the sick and those considered shut-in. Contact Sister Reynell Chasten ([email protected]) for more information. Other services are periodically taped. Newsletters are printed every two months. Our website has been developed to encourage and inform members and visitors. DAUGHTER'S OF ZION: Daughter's of Zion is a missionary group. They are prayer warriors, constantly praying for the sick. They are in the process of starting a rest home ministry where they visit the sick in rest homes. Their theme or motto is: "Lift As We Climb". The group meets monthly on the Saturday before the 3rd Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The Daughter's of Zion has established a Nursing Home Ministry as part of their mission. Outing to community nursing homes are being schedule each month. Please our announcements for times and places. If you are interested in joining or you need more information, please contact Mrs. Edith Smith. |
MEN'S FELLOWSHIP: This is a ministry dedicated to planning activities for the men to gather and become acquainted not only with each other, but also to create a bond of worship, prayer and fellowship.
MISSIONARY: The Missionary Department was formed by Christians who, through their faith in God, wanted to help others. All Missionary Baptists are missionaries. PASTOR'S AID MINISTRY: SCHOLARSHIP: This has been established to provide a multifaceted support for our collegiate and military service members who strive to become productive and prosperous individuals in a progressive and technological society. As a result, the scholarship committee awards, with church funds, a one-time contribution of $500.00. DEACONS: Deacons are servants of the Church. Our deacons have charge of the sick and needy members and act as assistants to the Pastor in advancing the general interest of the Church Body. Every member is assigned a Deacon. GREETERS COMMITTEE: Their purpose is to meet and greet parishioners as they enter into the sanctuary on Sunday Mornings. HEALTHCARE MINISTRY: Contact Sister Sheryl Hooks for more information or if you are interested in joining this ministry 910-284-3556. SUNDAY SCHOOL: The purpose of our Sunday School is to encourage the study of God's Word, the Bible. For whatsoever things were written, were written for our learning, that we, through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope to seek the truth and apply it to our daily living. |
YOUTH MINISTRY
(Preschool to grade 12) Our community youth are encouraged to learn more about God and becoming more involved spiritually. Being a part of the Youth Ministry keeps our youth involved in our local communities through service. We strive to keep our youth engaged in experiences that promote positive relationships with each other. The Youth Ministry meets on Wednesday, 6:30-8:00 for Bible Study and organized events/activities. |
